Skala Creative LLC was organized in April 2007 when Kara left the corporate world to branch out on her own.

The name "Skala" is derived from the Slovakian word for "rock." We want our clients to know that our work is solid and stable. (Besides, skala is a much cooler word than rock!)

Somewhat useless piece of trivia: The choice of using a Slovakian word is also a tribute to Kara's grandfather and great-grandparents who emigrated from Slovakia in the early 1900s.

Skala Creative LLC is based on the belief that the customers' needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to meeting those needs 100 percent. As a result of our commitment, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.

ABOUT KARA

Kara Sanger, owner of Skala Creative LLC, has been studying words and design for over 15 years. Her love for words started in childhood as an avid reader. In high school she was introduced to basic design through yearbook class. She holds a bachelor's degree in Publishing and has stayed current on trends for the past 10 years.

Her professional experience includes time in the classroom as a high school English teacher, a writer and ad designer for a local West Virginia newspaper, an online English and Writing tutor, and a freelance editor and designer.

Books to Kara's editorial credit include Victory over Trial and Trouble, Looking Ahead, Stem Cells and Cloning: Who Should Decide, Christmas Program Ideas, Parenting: One Chance to Do It Right, Think Outside the Office, and Before the Throne of Grace.

As a designer, she's won numerous awards from the West Virginia Press Association for her work on color and black and white advertisements.

When not working, Kara enjoys life in West Virginia with her two dogs and one cat. She blogs regularly at Ramblings-n-Writings. And her love for reading also translated into work as a book reviewer for Christian Fiction Blog Alliance, Bethany House Publishers,  Zondervan, Litfuse Publicity Group, and FIRST. She's also a member of American Christian Fiction Writers.
