My love for words started in childhood as an avid reader. Books took me to places and times (love historical fiction!) I could never visit in real life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Publishing and have spent time in the classroom as a high school English teacher. I also worked as a writer and ad designer for a local West Virginia newspaper. Most recently my job portfolio included working as an online English and Writing tutor and a freelance editor and designer.
I love living on an old country homestead in the hills of West Virginia with my husband, twin daughters, two cats, and dog. I blog regularly at Ramblings-n-Writings about books, life with twins, and other random topics.
Skala Creative is the name of my former business. I decided to continue maintaining this blog simply because of the amount of traffic searching for grammar rules. I closed the doors of my business in 2011 so I could focus on raising my twin girls. (And twins don’t allow mommy a lot of time to work!)
